Description

Birria Ramen brings together the vibrant flavors of beef birria and soft-boiled eggs over ramen noodles. With simple prep and hearty ingredients, it’s a must-try dish for anyone looking for a satisfying and delicious homemade meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package trader joe’s beef birria meat + consommé
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 packs ramen noodles seasoning packets discarded
  • Fresh cilantro chopped (for garnish)
  • Lime wedges
  • White onion finely diced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine the Trader Joe’s birria and chicken broth in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Bring to a simmer and stir occasionally. Mix in the lime juice just before removing from heat.
  2. Boil water in a medium saucepan. Carefully add the eggs and cook for 6½ minutes for soft-boiled eggs.
  3. After 3 minutes, add ramen noodles to the pot and gently separate them. Cook until both the eggs and noodles are ready at 6½ minutes.
  4. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop the cooking. Drain the noodles and divide them into two serving bowls.
  5. Pour the birria mixture over the noodles and garnish with cilantro, lime wedges, and diced white onion.

Notes

For firmer boiled eggs, adjust the cooking time by a minute.
This dish is best enjoyed immediately after preparation to appreciate the textures and flavors.
Feel free to adjust garnishes according to taste preferences.
