Description

Cinnamon Apples are a delightful treat featuring honey crisp apples and warm spices. Simple to make, they’re perfect as a quick dessert or comforting snack. Serve them warm or chilled for a flavorful experience!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds honey crisp apples
  • 3 tablespoons brown monk fruit/allulose
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice the apples evenly using a tool for uniformity.
  2. Place the sliced apples in a mixing bowl and sprinkle with brown sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla extract.
  3. Toss the apples until they are well coated in the mixture.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-low heat and add the butter. Once melted, add the apples and sauté uncovered for a few minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Pour lemon juice and water over the apples, toss, then cover and sauté for a few more minutes until desired texture is reached. Remove the lid and cook uncovered for a couple of minutes to thicken the liquid.
  6. Serve the apples warm or chill in the refrigerator for a cold treat.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh, high-quality honey crisp apples.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness to your preference with more or less brown sweetener.
These cinnamon apples pair beautifully with vanilla ice cream or yogurt.
