Description

These Easter Nests with Rice Krispies are a delightful treat featuring a crunchy base of Rice Krispies and gooey marshmallows, all topped with colorful Easter candy. Perfect for spring celebrations, they are simple to make and utterly delicious, ensuring fun for everyone involved in the kitchen!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup butter (salted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 10-ounce bag mini marshmallows
  • 5 cups rice krispies
  • 1 bag easter candy (16-oz bag of cadbury mini eggs)

Instructions

  1. Grease two 12-count muffin tins with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. In a large Dutch oven pot or a heavy-bottomed pan, melt the butter over low heat. As it melts, it will bubble and make a crackling sound. It will begin to brown in about 5 minutes; when the bubbling subsides, add the vanilla and marshmallows, stirring consistently until fully melted.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in the Rice Krispies and mix well using a wooden spoon or spatula until fully incorporated.
  4. Using a large cookie scoop (about 1/4 cup), portion the mixture into the prepared muffin tins. Once cool enough to handle, mold the mixture into nests by making a well in the center. Use baking spray or butter on your fingers to prevent sticking.
  5. Allow the Rice Krispies to set for about an hour, then fill with candy and serve.

Notes

For added flavor, feel free to mix in chocolate chips or dried fruits.
The nests should be shaped soon after portioning for easier molding.
Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain their crispness.
