Description

These Easter Sugar Cookies are irresistible with their delicious flavor and simple preparation. Made with soft butter, sweet sour cream, and topped with vibrant sprinkles, they are perfect for any festive occasion.

  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar

  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter for frosting
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract for frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease your baking sheets.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter, vegetable oil, and sour cream until smooth.
  4. Mix in the granulated sugar and vanilla until the mixture is light and creamy.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture to form a soft dough.
  6. Scoop out 2-inch portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, gently flattening the tops.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow cookies to cool completely.
  8. For frosting, beat together the butter, milk, and vanilla. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until smooth.
  9. Add pastel gel food coloring to the frosting, frost the cooled cookies, and sprinkle with festive easter sprinkles.
