Description

Taco Cups are a delightful meal option packed with flavor. Made with tortillas, seasoned beef, and melted cheddar, they’re perfect for a quick dinner or comfort food craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 small flour tortillas (6-7 inch)
  • 1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium sweet onion finely diced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1.0 oz packet taco seasoning
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp dark chili powder
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper
  • 1/2 cup taco sauce
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • sour cream, green onions, cherry tomatoes, jalapeños, green onions for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly spray a standard 12-cup cupcake pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Press one tortilla into the bottom and sides of each cup, adjusting as necessary, and spray the tops with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion in olive oil until fully browned. Drain excess grease.
  4. Stir in the taco seasoning, chili powder, lemon pepper, and seasoned salt. Mix well, then add the taco sauce and simmer for 5-10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and spoon the beef mixture evenly into each tortilla cup (about 1/4-1/3 cup per cup).
  6. Top each cup with shredded cheese and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
  7. After baking, let stand for 3-5 minutes, then serve with sour cream, cherry tomatoes, salsa, green onions, guacamole, jalapeños, or your favorite toppings.

Notes

You can use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative to beef.
Feel free to customize the toppings based on your preferences for a personal touch.
These cups are great for parties and can be made ahead of time and reheated.
