Description

Taco Spaghetti marries the bold flavors of tacos with hearty spaghetti. With simple prep and mouthwatering spices, it transforms dinner into a flavor-packed treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef 80/20
  • 1 cup small diced onion
  • 1 ounce packet taco seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • 12 ounces spaghetti noodles
  • taco toppings of your choice

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet with deep sides, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat, breaking the meat into crumbles and stirring until no pink remains, about 5-8 minutes.
  2. Add taco seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  3. Mix in the crushed tomatoes and cilantro until fully combined.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. While the sauce simmers, cook the spaghetti noodles according to package instructions.
  6. Once the sauce has simmered, add the cooked noodles to the skillet and mix well using tongs to combine.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite taco toppings.

Notes

Feel free to customize the taco toppings to your liking: cheese, avocado, or salsa are great choices.
For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils or a meat alternative.
This dish can easily be made ahead and reheated, making it perfect for meal prep.
