Description

Watergate Salad is a refreshing and delightful dish, featuring a creamy blend of cool whip, pistachio pudding, and pineapple. Perfect for any gathering or as a quick dessert at home, its sweet and nutty flavors will bring smiles to everyone around. Enjoy this easy-to-make classic!


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cool whip
  • 3.4 ounces instant pistachio pudding
  • 20 ounces crushed pineapple
  • 3 cups marshmallows
  • 4 ounce chopped walnuts pecans work great too
  • 2/3 cup chopped dried cranberries optional


Instructions

  1. In a medium/large mixing bowl, combine Cool Whip and pistachio pudding, then beat until well combined without any visible pudding powder.
  2. Add the crushed pineapple and beat again until everything is evenly mixed.
  3. Gently stir in marshmallows, walnuts, and dried cranberries if using.
  4. Finish by topping with a sprinkle of dried cranberries and walnuts, and serve immediately. Alternatively, cover and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

For added texture, toast the walnuts before mixing.
Feel free to substitute pecans for walnuts if desired.
This salad can be made a day in advance for easy serving.
