  • 1 ½ cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup lemon juice freshly squeezed (about 6 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar + more, to taste
  • 4 cups ice cold water
  • 1 cup ice + more for serving
  • Lemon slices for serving


Instructions

  1. Combine blueberries, granulated sugar, and 1 cup of water in a saucepan and heat over medium-low heat until the berries start to burst, which takes about 6 minutes.
  2. Mash the berries using a potato masher, wooden spoon, or fork.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, pressing the berries firmly to extract as much juice as possible.
  4. Pour the blueberry syrup into a pitcher and add 1 cup of ice.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice and cold water until well combined.
  6. Adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired (you can refrigerate if not serving immediately).
  7. Serve the lemonade over ice, garnished with fresh lemon slices and blueberries.
