Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 1 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream or milk
- 2 20-ounce jars or cans of peaches in regular or light syrup juice reserved
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ºF and melt the butter in a 13×9-inch baking dish.
- Reserve the juice and transfer the peaches to a cutting board. Slice them into 1/2-inch pieces.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the self-rising flour and sugar.
- Blend in the heavy whipping cream until combined. Pour the batter over the melted butter, spreading slightly without mixing.
- Distribute the peach slices evenly on top of the batter, then drizzle with 1/2 cup of the reserved juice.
- Bake for 60 to 70 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or fresh whipped cream.
Notes
For a sweeter cobbler, add more sugar to the batter.
This dish pairs well with vanilla ice cream for added flavor.
You can use fresh peaches if they’re in season for a fresher taste.
