Description

This Slow Cooker Beef & Broccoli is a mouthwatering dish that combines tender beef and fresh broccoli in a rich sauce. It’s simple to prepare and perfect for a quick dinner or a comforting meal loaded with flavor.


Ingredients

  • pounds flank steak or stewing beef, sliced thin
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup beef stock
  • ¼ cup soy-free stir-fry style sauce, or Worcestershire-based substitute
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 10-11 ounces broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Cooked rice or noodles
  • Sesame seeds


Instructions

  1. Add sliced beef, onion, garlic, beef stock, sauce, and brown sugar to the slow cooker and stir gently.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours until the beef is tender.
  3. Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water to create a slurry.
  4. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  5. Add the broccoli during the last 30 minutes of cooking and allow to cook until tender yet vibrant.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

For added flavor, try marinating the beef in the sauce for a few hours before cooking.
