Description

Suya Beef Kabobs feature juicy, spiced beef marinated to perfection. Quick to prepare and packed with flavor, these kabobs are ideal for a delightful dinner or casual gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs 700 g beef sirloin or flank steak, cut into thin strips
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • metal or soaked wooden skewers
  • 1/2 cup ground roasted peanuts or unsweetened peanut powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper, adjust to your heat preference
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp bouillon powder, optional for authentic touch
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1-2 tomatoes, sliced or chopped
  • lemon or lime wedges
  • fresh cilantro or parsley, optional
  • pita bread, flatbread, or tortillas

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine ground peanuts, paprika, cayenne, ginger, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and bouillon powder. Mix well.
  2. Place sliced beef in another bowl and drizzle with vegetable oil. Toss to coat.
  3. Add the spice mix to the beef and rub it in well, ensuring each piece is coated.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for deeper flavor.
  5. Thread marinated beef onto skewers, folding or layering the strips as desired.
  6. Grill over medium-high heat for about 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally. For broiling, cook for 8–10 minutes under the broiler, turning halfway through.
  7. Serve hot with sliced red onion, fresh tomatoes, a squeeze of lemon or lime, and warm pita or flatbread.

Notes

For best flavor, allow the beef to marinate overnight.
Adjust cayenne pepper to control the heat level.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauces for extra flavor.
